Charlie's Room
Charlie‘s room needed a refresh and some new decor. I thought it would be fun to share with you the process of decorating her little space.
First let’s start with some before photos. I removed all the old decor from her nursery so I could start with a fresh slate. Then I repainted the room white. Previously it was a very light grey.
I moved the bookshelves over and then added a peg shelf. I scrounged up art we had around the house to possibly use for the room.
The color scheme for the room I decided to go with was pink and mauve tones. I knew I wanted a feature/accent wall and was very inspired by the Twany Mural by Anewall (A New Wall). Anewall is a wall paper company that creates wall murals and wall paper designs that are beautiful, fun and modern. What I love most is that they offer vinyl self adhesive wall paper. This was appealing to me because I knew I could install it myself and if later down the road if I wanted a new look the removal is a pretty easy process. So I choose the Twany mural for her room and I absolutely love it!!
For the bedding I went with Beddy’s. It’s an entire comforter that goes on the bed like a fitted sheet and the comforter attached zips open and closed for an easy way to make the bed. It keeps the bed looking neat and tidy. This was a great option for Charlie since she is 5 and it can be difficult for her to make a daybed. Beddy’s was kind enough to provide my readers with a discount code, use code VALERIE20 for 20% off.
The quilt at the end of her bed is from Target.
The shaggy boho style rug is from Rugs USA. They offer a wide rage of rugs in every color and style you can think of. They have great reviews on their products so I decided to go with this fun boho rug for the space. I love how it looks, but after receiving it I did notice it she’d quit a bit. I’m hopping this dies down because it’s new, I’ll let you know once I’ve vacuumed if a few times if it’s any better. The great thing about Rugs USA is they offer returns. So if for any reason I’m not happy I can easily return or exchange it.
The wooden name sign above her bed is by BnBCreative Co. The owner Britney is so sweet and is local to Bakersfield. She has made custom items for me in the past and her work is always so amazing. I hope you take some time to check out her shop!
My girls favorite dolls are their Cuddle and Kind dolls which you can see thought the space. They are handcrafted dolls by artisans who are paid fair wages, every doll sold feeds10 children in need. I love supporting business that have a mission to give back!
The sea grass basket is by Lainey’s Room, a small shop that creates the cutest holiday items for kids. Such as necklaces, bracelets and cute decor.
Since we have the bookshelves I wanted a nice chair or seating are for the space. I loved this cute rattan chair. The girls love curling up in the chair to read.
Garland on the bookshelf is from Pearl and Jane . She makes the best garlands and I use her garlands for all of my holiday decor.
The macrame pieces in the space are by Dear Knot. If you love macrame you will love her shop she creates beautiful and unique pieces.
