Homemade Valentine Pop Tarts


Ingredients

1 pack of pre-made pie crusts

1 Tablespoon butter


Fruit Poptarts

6 tablespoons of jelly

1/2 a tablespoon of cornstarch

1/2 a tablespoon of water


Brown Sugar

1/4 cup brown sugar

3/4 tsp cinnamon

1/2 tablespoon flour

1/4 tsp vanilla

1 tablespoon butter

1 tsp date nectar


Preheat oven to 350 degrees

Roll out dough and use a cookie cutter to cut out desired shape.




Mix ingredients for jelly filling in a bowl.


Instead of an egg wash, we used a little bit of butter around the edges to help the top piece stick.


Then add a small dollop to one side of your Poptart. Then cover with another shape and press sides with a fork.




Poke a hole in the center of each poptart.




Then bake for 20 minute.




Mix the ingredients for the Brown sugar filling in a bowl and repeat the same steps.


Glaze Recipe


Pink Glaze

3/4 confectioners sugar

1 TBsp Milk ( we used almond milk)

1/4 teaspoon vanilla

1 drop pink food color


Brown Glaze

3/4 confectioners sugar

1 TBsp Milk ( we used almond milk)

1/4 teaspoon vanilla

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon




Once poptarts have cooled. you can make and add the glaze to the top. Then we added some sprinkles for fun!! Enjoy!
